About the 6x36 Stainless Steel Wire Rope  

This stainless wire rope follows the same format as our other steel ropes in that the numbers, 6x36, relate to the number of strands and wires. So this equipment has 6 strands of 36 wires.

 However, there are two different options for the inner core around which these 6   strands are laid. This inner core is can be made from either fibre or wire rope itself. 

With a wire core you will find that it is an independent wire rope such as 7x7, meaning 7 bundles of 7 strands. This provides maximum flexibility, high durability, good crush resistance and optimum tensile strength; so together with good corrosion and abrasion resistance you can expect a good service life even if the conditions are somewhat challenging.

A rope construction that has a fibre rope core will have FC after the numbers, whilst an independent wire rope core will typically show IWRC or wc. A fibre core 6x36 offers a good balance between strength and flexibility as well as providing good shock absorbing properties for enhanced safety.

 Like most stainless products, it has heavy usage within the marine industry, but you will also find that it is used in the sewage and water industry too. This equipment has a good level of resistance to saltwater, hence its ability to operate safely in these industries.
